FEATURED ARTIST
Making art is about learning who you are, and accepting it. I am in accordance with Popeye, who liked to say, “I yam what I yam.” I like to say it, too.
If something I offer resonates with you, I invite you to contact me!
I make art because I love doing it. Art is the house where my soul lives, with windows that offer glimpses into my consciousness, and doors my ideas leap out of into the wider world.
I was educated as both a librarian, and a teacher, and developed a host of skills relevant to my working life. Offering information and teaching others comes quite naturally. But I always made art, even while studying and working (outside the home). Teaching art to adults is more of a collaboration than with children, because in parentis locus no longer applies. I find that collaboration hugely satisfying. I would say my specialty is encouraging creativity.
On the other hand, I quite happily lose my self in my studio, where I can revel in satisfying my own whims and curiosity. I am in constant pursuit of ideas, concepts, mysteries. Art, along with poetry and reading, offer paths to pursue these passions. Carol Wiebe carolwiebe.com
